There are several variations of the game, varying by the number of players, the amount of money in the pot, and the number of rounds of betting.
A standard game of poker involves three rounds of dealing and three rounds of betting. Depending on the rules of the game, one of the rounds can be a draw, a draw is a type of draw that requires two consecutive cards, and the showdown is the endgame, when the winner is announced.
This is followed by a final round of betting. The earliest known version of poker had 20 cards. Today, the modern game is usually played with a standard deck.
